This is my entry to Marissa Meyer's Lunar Insignia contest.
The earth is in the background, not only as a nod to how they’re considered a country, but it’s also eclipsed by the moon to amplify the “we’re better than you” mentality prevalent in the Lunar society. As a side note, the earth is orientated towards Asia, purely because the plot of Cinder takes place in the Eastern Commonwealth.
The DNA strand represents the Lunar gene and the change in their race from ours.
The wolf is an animal tied closely with the moon, not to mention a few Lunar secrets.
